All the answers to our most frequently asked questions can be found below. If you get to the bottom of the page and you’re still a bit puzzled, get in touch. We love a good chat.
Where do tours depart from?
We’ll pick you up from your accommodation if you’re staying in Melbourne CBD or St Kilda. If you are staying elsewhere, we’ll meet you outside St Paul’s Cathedral, corner of Swanston & Flinders Streets, Melbourne (opposite Federation Square and Flinders Street Train Station)
If you’re joining us on the 2 Day Great Ocean Road Adventure we can also pick you up from Albert Park, Port Melbourne, South Melbourne or Southbank.
If you’re interested in a particular adventure, have a read through the description. You’ll find all the info you need to know there.
How many people are on each adventure?
We’ve found that a maximum of 11 people per adventure works best for group dynamics. Plus your friendly adventure tour guide, of course.
Just how fit do I need to be to join one of these fitness adventures?
We cater to all fitness levels. If you’re a fitness newbie, or if you don’t get much time to work-out, we’ll inspire you. If you’re a fitness nut, we’ll challenge you.
Is there a minimum age to participate in the tours?
You have to be at least 15 years old to come along on a TripFit adventure, and under 18s must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
What should I wear?
Unlike most Melbourne activities, you won’t get away with just wearing black. You’ll need comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes for hiking and biking. Swimwear for kayaking and boarding. And, of course, lots of layers to deal with Melbourne’s famously temperamental weather.
For a better idea of what to wear, check the details of the adventure tour you’re interested in.
What do I need to bring?
We always say you should never leave home without sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Further details about what to bring can be found in the detailed description of each adventure.
Is there room for luggage?
Yes, but not much. Please limit your belongings to one small-medium backpack per person for day tours and one medium-large item for 2 day tours.
Are your adventure tours suitable for people with disabilities?
We want everyone to have the opportunity to join in on our adventures and will do everything in our power to accommodate your needs. If you do have special requirements, please get in touch in advance and let us know.
Do I need to know how to ride a bike?
If you plan to take part in any cycling adventures, you need to be comfortable riding a bike. We can give you pointers, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
If you find that you’re not up for biking, there will usually be other activities on offer as well.
Do I need to bring my own bike?
Nope. We provide bikes, and helmets too.
What happens if the weather’s bad?
The upside to Melbourne’s changeable weather is that bad conditions don’t tend to stick around for too long. We can usually adapt the itinerary based on the weather and tides to ensure you get the best experience.
If dangerous or extreme weather is expected, we’ll let you know the night before. You’ll have the option to cancel or do alternative activities indoors instead.
Would an adventure make a good hens party/bucks party?
Does a koala bear shit in the woods? Our custom adventures were made for that last hurrah before marriage. Get a group of 5-11 people together and drop us a line about your hens party/bucks party ideas. We’ll pull together an itinerary so perfect it’ll give the big day a run for its money.
